77th Independence Day was celebrated with great great pomp and grandeur at Githanjali Public School. The school decorated with tricolor saffron, white and green flags welcomed the eyes of all to the function. The ceremony started at 8:10 AM in the school premises with students, staff, and parents. To commemorate the sovereignty of our Nation, Our Chairman Shri Alagiriswamy unfurled the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom, Our Chairman emphasized the role of students in nation’s development .
Our Principal Madam Smt. S.G. Kavitha , addressed the gathering about the responsibilities of citizens and stressed upon the value of sacrifice, hard work, honesty, and character formation.
The students of Choir group with their melodious voices sang the Patriotic song,Students presented dance on the theme peace and our school Aurobindo Bharati,Tagore and Vivekananda house students of Grade 4 & 5 also presented dance with patriotic theme which awakened everyone’s feelings towards the Mother Land. The program culminated with Vote of Thanks. Eventually sweets were distributed to the students. Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and Unity in Diversity.
