GPS HOUSE SYSTEMS

The house system is an integral and vibrant part of our school culture. Students of our school are divided into Four Houses viz Aurobindo, Bharati, Vivekananda, and Tagore named after great  Indian personalities. The House system gives our students an identity and sense of pride and builds a closer rapport between the students and teachers. It brings positive competition among all the four houses. These house systems contribute to helping our new students and staff to adapt to the school culture.

These activities are conducted throughout the year as marked in the school calendar. The competitions like elocution, debate, recitation, drawing, painting, drama, skit, dance, group song, solo song, extempore` and speech to enhance their talent and creativity.

FIELD TRIPS

Field trips are valuable learning experiences to students and it is one of the best tools that we can use to provide every student with real-world experiences.

Whether that’s a trip to the local grocery store, waterfront park, a library, a museum, a community garden etc. each experience that a student participates in, contributes to their understanding of the world. They see the connections between what is happening at school and in the ‘real-world’. At GPS students go on fieldtrip once in a term as per  schedule. They have been to Gandhi museum, Aquarium, International Airport, Gass Forest Museum & Children’s traffic park, Insect Museum, conventional center, Industries, Botanical garden etc…

EDUCATIONAL TOURS

The School organizes an educational trip to places within and outside India. These tours engender a feeling of pride to appreciate other state’s, country’s rich cultural heritage and at the same time to expose the students to the cultures, languages, lifestyle of different people outside and inside our country. This helps them to broaden their outlook.

FESTIVALS

Festivals not only bring joy and add colours to our life but also give the noble virtue of respecting others culture, enabling us to understand its significance and ideal behind the celebrations. We at our school celebrate all National and religious festivals with great pomp and splendor.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

To define the values in children, we at GPS engage our students in social awareness campaigns such as Cleanliness drive, Awareness programme, Follow the Traffic rules and zero food wastage etc.

ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVITIES

Children have been involved in recycling, reusing as much as possible, gardening to explore environmental concepts, visiting Botanical gardens, Aquarium etc…
